It's who we are that sets us apart. Our longevity in the employment business sets us apart from most employment firms. In 1969, Charles Matthews established what is now known as Matthews Employment. We are the pre-eminent private employment firm in Lake County. The business began as a direct hire firm and in the 1980's added the Temporary Division as that service became increasingly popular for employers. There are two important details about which you should be aware. First, Matthews is employee-owned - meaning our employees are actual owners of the company. The staff has a very real interest in the performance and operation of the firm. Secondly, we are locally owned and managed. This is important because there is always someone available to get the answers you need. We also belong to two very important associations: NAPS, the National Association of Personnel Services and ASA, the American Staffing Association. We are active in these organizations to stay on top of the most current issues affecting our industry as well as to receive continuing education and training for our consultants. Matthews is a well-known name in the Lake County community. We are proud members of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and GLMV Chamber of Commerce. We sponsor a scholarship program with several area high schools. In addition, we support local endeavors such as that of the Genesee Theatre and the Waukegan Business Association.
